At CAP, we know that preparing young people for successful careers means addressing more than just resumes and internships. It means understanding the data and statistics behind the barriers they face every day.
From redlining and disinvestment to food insecurity, the effects of systemic racism continue to limit opportunity in Black and Brown communities in New York
Redlining is a discriminatory practice that deprives certain races or ethnicities of financial services and essential resources based on the demographics of their neighborhoods. These resources include mortgage loans, grocery stores, healthcare facilities, and in this case, quality education.
